Neurologist, Neuro-Palliative - Berkeley, Castro Valley, CA

Our organization is looking to recruit a full-time Neurologist to become part of a collaborative team dedicated to practicing evidence-based medicine in a supportive environment.

The selected candidate will engage in general neurology while also establishing a neuro-palliative practice.

  • This role offers a commitment of 0.8-1.0 FTE.

  • The primary focus will be on an outpatient clinic setting, specifically within a general neurology clinic.

  • Call responsibilities are limited to telephonic support and are shared among eight neurologists.

  • Participation in the neurology hospital consultation service is optional (at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center).

  • One day will be spent in Castro Valley, with 2-3 clinic days in Berkeley, which serves as the specialty hub.

  • One day will be allocated for virtual or home visits.

  • Enjoy a healthy work-life balance.

  • Be part of a multi-specialty medical group.

  • Join a large neurology department where all clinicians practice general neurology while also having subspecialty interests, fellowship training, and/or experience.

  • Each clinician is supported by a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA).

  • Receive support from Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) for specific services.

Qualifications

  • Board certification or eligibility in Neurology is mandatory.

  • Experience or training in neuro-palliative care is essential.

  • An active and unrestricted California Medical License is required.

  • A current DEA license is necessary.

  • While prior experience is preferred, recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
