\nThe Role
\nWe are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a friendly finance team. This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their finance career within a busy business. You will play a key role across payroll, CIS, purchase and sales ledger, and month-end processes, working closely with colleagues across the business.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nPayroll & CIS
\n- \n
- Manage the weekly payroll process end-to-end using Sage 50 Payroll \n
- Maintain accurate employee records, including starters, leavers, holiday, sickness and deductions \n
- Administer CIS processing, submissions and reconciliations \n
- Liaise with pension provider, ensuring auto-enrolment compliance and accurate reporting \n
Purchase & Sales Ledger

- Process supplier invoices, including Amazon invoices, fuel costs and petty cash \n
- Prepare and process monthly supplier payment runs \n
- Set up and maintain supplier and customer accounts in Sage 200, Construct and banking systems \n
- Raise and post sales invoices, allocations and ledger reconciliations \n
Month-End & Reporting

- Assist with month-end close procedures \n
- Reconcile bank accounts, payroll control and balance sheet accounts \n
- Maintain stock and wage analysis, accurately allocating costs to jobs \n
- Support with job setup, cost tracking and updates \n
General Finance Support

- Handle queries from suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders \n
- Ensure financial data is accurate, up to date and audit-ready \n
- Support continuous improvement of finance processes and controls \n
About You
\n- \n
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Senior Accounts Assistant role \n
- Strong working knowledge of payroll, CIS, purchase ledger and sales ledger \n
- Experience with Sage systems (Sage 50 Payroll and/or Sage 200 preferred) \n
- Construction or engineering sector experience advantageous but not essential \n
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail \n
- Confident communicator and team player with a proactive approach \n
