HGV Class 2 Driver

JB508: HGV Class 2 DriverLocation: Aylesford, KentSalary: £40,000 per annum (£50,000+ OTE)OverviewFirst Military Recruitment are currently seeking a HGV Class 2 Driver on behalf of one of our clients.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities for the HGV Class 2 Driver:

• Building positive relationships with customers and ensuring complete satisfaction.
\n
• Carefully loading, unloading and handling products to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
\n
• Completing PODs, CMRs and customs documentation where required.
\n
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects promptly.
\n
• Ensuring loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
\n
• Using company technology including PDAs and tracking systems.
\n
• Communicating effectively with the Transport Manager and wider team.
\n
• Following drivers' hours, tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations.
\n
• Maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism and presentation.
\n

Skills and Qualifications for the HGV Class 2 Driver:

\n
• Full UK HGV Class 2 driving licence.
\n
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
\n
• Experience with European tramping would be desirable and will include multiple nights away (Monday–Friday). As well as UK work.
\n
• Comfortable tramping in the vehicle Monday – Friday while on route.
\n
• Speaking French or German would be advantageous, but not essential.
\n
• Physically fit and able to manoeuvre and deliver our furniture safely. Manual handling and heavy lifting training provided)
\n
• Experience in furniture delivers/ installations would be ideal but not essential.
\n
• Strong customer service skills with a polite and professional manner.
\n
• Commitment to Health & Safety, adhering to company policies and promoting safe working practices.
\n
• Reliable, punctual and a great team player.
\n
