Business Development Manager - Service Contracts South of England - Field Based£30,000 - £40,000 Basic + Commission + Company Car + Benefits Are you a field-based BDM who knows how to open doors, build trust and turn long-term prospects into customers? We're recruiting for an established and growing engineering business looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to develop a new territory across the South of England.
\nThis is a genuine new business role, focused on winning preventative maintenance, service contracts and training packages with manufacturing, engineering and industrial customers.
\nWe're interested in someone who understands how to sell service agreements, maintenance contracts or recurring service solutions and is comfortable building relationships with Maintenance Managers, Engineering Managers and Operations teams.
\nThe Role
\nYou'll take ownership of your territory, identifying businesses where there is an opportunity to introduce a new service and maintenance provider.
\nThis isn't a quick, transactional sale. You'll be building relationships, understanding how customers currently manage their maintenance requirements and developing the trust needed for them to consider changing supplier.
\nSome opportunities may convert within a few months; others will require persistence and relationship building over a longer period.
\nYou'll be responsible for:
\n- \n
- Generating your own new business opportunities. \n
- Building a strong pipeline across manufacturing and industrial markets. \n
- Developing relationships with Maintenance Managers, Engineering Managers and Operations teams. \n
- Understanding customers' maintenance, compliance and operational requirements. \n
- Selling preventative maintenance and service agreements. \n
- Managing opportunities from initial prospecting through to contract agreement. \n
- Identifying and closing opportunities for associated training packages. \n
- Maintaining an accurate CRM pipeline and sales forecast. \n
- Working closely with internal service and operational teams once contracts are secured. \n
What We're Looking For
\nWe're looking for a proper new-business salesperson who enjoys opening doors, developing relationships and winning new customers.
\nYou could currently be selling:
\n- \n
- HVAC maintenance/service contracts \n
- Lift maintenance \n
- Industrial door or loading bay servicing \n
- Fire & security maintenance \n
- Facilities or engineering services \n
- Compressor servicing \n
- CNC or machinery maintenance \n
- Plant/equipment servicing \n
- Access equipment services \n
- Other industrial maintenance or recurring service contracts \n
Experience selling into manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial customers would be particularly relevant.
\nYou'll Need

- A successful track record in field-based B2B new business sales. \n
- Experience selling service, maintenance or recurring contracts. \n
- Strong prospecting and business development skills. \n
- The patience and persistence to manage longer sales cycles. \n
- Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills. \n
- Confidence dealing with operational and maintenance decision-makers. \n
- Strong pipeline management and forecasting ability. \n
- The ability to manage a large territory autonomously. \n
- A full UK driving licence. \n
