Our client a well establish organisation specialising within the Energy, Engineering and Oil & Gas sector are actively looking to hire a Logisitics & Material Lead to be based from their site in Barrow-In-Furness, Cumbria.Job Title: Logistics & Materials LeadLocation: Barrow-In-Furness, CumbriaDuration: 2 YEAR CONTRACTDay Rates: Competitive Day Rates - Inside IR35Hybrid Working: 3 to 4 Days onsite.Job Responsibilities:Purpose Statement The job holder will act as the interface between the business and contracted logistics service providers, ensuring that the business' logistics needs are met in a safe and cost-effective manner managing the delivery of logistics services (helicopters, marine, shore based) and inventory management activities overseeing the relevant onsite contractor personnel (warehouse and quayside).The Job holder will be responsible for the management and maintenance of material movements working closely with the business to ensure correct processing of material movements and returns.Key Deliverables:GeneralManage end-to-end logistics operations and material movements (marine, aviation, road, and quayside)Own and manage relevant contracts, ensuring value delivery and innovationManage third-party providers including vessel owners, aviation providers, and warehousesMonitor contractor performance, KPIs, and service deliveryMaintain accurate tracking and records of all logistics and material movementsDevelop and maintain relationships with suppliers and key stakeholdersInventory & Materials Management:Manage warehouse and supply base operations, including third-party providersOversee material handling, storage, and disposal processesOptimise inventory levels to meet operational needs while minimising excessManage movement of materials between onshore and offshore locationsEnsure inventory recovery and compliance with disposal policiesLogistics & Operations:Manage aviation logistics, including helicopter bookings and personnel complianceOversee marine vessel chartering, including ad-hoc and anchor handling vesselsOptimise vessel and helicopter scheduling to maximise efficiency and reduce costCoordinate movement of personnel, equipment, and materials to/from offshore assetsEnsure safe and efficient execution of offshore transport operationsMaintain flight logs, capacity utilisation, and operational recordsSupport mobilisation and demobilisation of rigs and vesselsEnsure emergency response logistics resources are availableParticipate in on-call rota for operational supportGovernance & Compliance:Ensure adherence to corporate policies, customs regulations, and assurance processesWork with Legal, Tax, Risk, and Finance on disposal and resale complianceGovern material usage (e.g. end-use controls, OCTG support)Ensure compliance with customs, legal, and regulatory requirementsAct as Technical Assurance (TA) for marine and aviation logisticsEnsure hazardous materials are handled in line with regulationsMaintain governance over bonded materials and end-use controlsAny other associated duties as reasonably requiredCompetence & Qualifications:Experience with contracts activities (strategy, sourcing, contracts management, etc.)Experienced in marine operations planning.Experienced in aviation operations planning.Competent user of business systems, SAP, MS Office.Good organisation skills, ability to prioritise work and consistently meet deadlines.Good understanding of appropriate legislation, best practices and guidelines.Ability to manage 3rd parties to deliver in line with business expectations.Qualifications:Educated to degree levelRelevant experience may compensate for formal educationVantage system - Admin TrainingSafe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Sea and AirOffshore certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc) preferred but not essentialTPBN1_UKTJ
