Systems Engineer - Secure Digital Platform (SDP)Reading/Hybrid (3 days per week on site)12 Month Contract£71.43 per hour Inside ir35Active SC Clearance is required for this rolePlay a key role in delivering the next generation of UK defence capability.We are supporting a defence client on the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) - a landmark international defence initiative developing the future combat air system - and are looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Secure Digital Platform (SDP) team.This is an opportunity to work on highly sensitive MOD and aerospace programmes, helping build and support the secure digital infrastructure that underpins mission-critical defence capability.Responsibilities:Supporting secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure environmentsAssisting with Microsoft Azure administration and cloud platform operationsMaintaining Windows Server and Linux environmentsSupporting virtualisation platforms and enterprise hosting solutionsWorking with Kubernetes/OpenShift container platformsMonitoring system performance, availability and resilienceSupporting incident management, troubleshooting and service improvementsContributing to automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using tools such as Terraform, Ansible or PowerShellSupporting secure infrastructure changes, documentation and operational processesExpereince Required:Experience within defence, aerospace, MOD, government or other secure environmentsExperience supporting Windows Server and/or Linux platformsUnderstanding of cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft AzureKnowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)Exposure to VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, OpenShift or container technologiesInterest in automation, DevOps practices and modern platform engineeringWhy join?Work on the GCAP programme , shaping future defence technologySupport secure digital platforms within a highly sensitive aerospace environmentGain exposure to modern cloud, container and automation technologiesJoin a world-leading defence organisation at the forefront of innovationIf this is of interest, please feel free to submit your CV.TPBN1_UKTJ
