Design Engineer

We're looking for a Design Engineer to join our Structural and Geotechnical -Civils River Infrastructure team based in Bristol.Location: BristolHours: 40 hours per week some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.Salary: Starting form £36,000 per annumSector: Structural and Geotechnical -Civils River InfrastructureWe are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.We're looking for a Design Engineer to join Kier Design's growing River Infrastructure team. You'll support the delivery of civil infrastructure and river engineering projects, developing safe, buildable solutions that meet client requirements.You'll work within a collaborative in-house consultancy, contributing to projects for key clients including the Environment Agency, Severn Trent and Mining Remediation Authority.Are youAn experienced civil engineer with a background in infrastructure or river engineering?Comfortable supporting design delivery and applying sound engineering judgement?Confident working within a team to deliver safe, buildable engineering solutions?Passionate about developing your skills and working towards professional chartership?A strong collaborator who enjoys working with clients and stakeholders?Do youHave experience in design delivery within civil infrastructure or related disciplines?Havepostgraduate experience in hydraulic structures, river engineering or similar?Apply sound judgement when managing technical risk and uncertainty?Contribute to proposals, design solutions and value engineering opportunities?Want to work towards Chartered or Incorporated status (e.g. CEng MICE)?Hold a full UK driving licence?Want to join a Top 30 Glassdoor-rated Main Contractor with secured workload?What will you be responsible for?As an Design Engineer, you'll support the delivery of schemes within the Kier Design team, including:Supporting the delivery of civil infrastructure and river engineering designsReviewing client requirements and contributing to technical solutionsAssisting with fee proposals and project delivery activitiesCoordinating with engineers and technicians within the design teamEnsuring designs are compliant with CDM Regulations, SHEMS and QMS requirementsSupporting project performance, including programme, budget and change controlDeveloping alternative design solutions to enhance project outcomesWhat are we looking for?This role of Design Engineer is great for you if you:Have experience in civil infrastructure design deliveryAre Confident using your own judgement to manage technical risk and uncertaintyAre Comfortable developing skills and working in new technical areas with team supportHave postgraduate experience in hydraulic structures, river engineering or similarAre working towards Chartered or Incorporated status (e.g. CEng MICE)Have a full UK driving licenceWe're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome!
