Job Description

Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM UK & Ireland's Infrastructure segment has an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Managing Quantity Surveyor to work in Hub A of our Environment Agency (EA) framework in the Northeast of England; the Framework covers the delivery of ESE and Construction Contracts for maintaining and renewing flood defences and associated infrastructure. This role will be a combination of being based at our office in Leeds as well as working on site; flexible working will also be considered.Making Possible You will be responsible for the following:Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with Company policyMaintain effective communication with the team you are working withManage, supervise and mentor your direct reportsProvide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting and input to subcontract documentsCommercial management of subcontractors including processing payments, obtaining final account agreements, and resolving disputed issues by negotiation, if appropriateEnsure the timely production of reliable cost performance dataAssist in the production of monthly / quarterly reportsBe responsible for change management including ensuring adherence to Contractual timescales and NoticesEnsure adherence to Risk and Opportunity management protocol and advise the Management Team accordinglyBe responsible for the timely production of appropriate levels of applications for payments in accordance with the provisions of the conditions of contractAttend and provide input to all site commercial meetings. Providing commercial advice to the site teamManage time and workloads for yourself and your commercial team in a structured mannerWhat do you bring to the role? The following are required:Successful experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level or higher demonstrating effective core commercial skillsAbility to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the project team including the Client, Project Managers and DesignersHave the confidence and ability to work within a team environment, and to have a positive influence on outcomesWilling to help and assist those around you in their developmentCompetent in the use of Microsoft Excel & Microsoft WordThe following are desirable requirements:Early Contractor Involvement experienceExperience in NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contractExperience of target cost contractsWorking towards CICES membership or equivalentWhats in it for you?
