\nThe Role\n

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical engineering projects within the nuclear industry. Working closely with engineering, commercial and project delivery teams, you will ensure estimates are technically robust, commercially competitive and aligned with client requirements.

\n

\nKey Responsibilities\n
\n

Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical engineering projects.

\n

Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

\n

Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.

\n

Produce accurate material take-offs and labour estimates.

\n

Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities.

\n

Liaise with clients, engineers and commercial teams throughout the tender process.

\n

Support bid reviews and presentations where required.

\n

Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.

\nAbout You\n
\n

To be successful as a Mechanical Estimator, you will have:

\n

Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within engineering, building services or industrial projects.

\n

Strong understanding of mechanical systems and installation methodologies.

\n

Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.

\n

Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

\n

Strong communication and organisational skills.

\n

A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.

\n

The following experience would be advantageous:

\n

Nuclear sector experience.

\n

Mechanical engineering.

\n

Building Services.

\n

HVAC.

\n

Process engineering.

\n

Industrial or highly regulated environments.

\n

Candidates with transferable estimating experience from engineering, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation or other complex mechanical environments are encouraged to apply.
