The Role - SEMH Teaching Assistant As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils aged 11-16 with needs including SEMH, ADHD, Autism, attachment difficulties, trauma, and behavioural challenges. Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff, you will provide 1:1 mentoring, classroom support, and small-group interventions, helping pupils develop emotional regulation, improve behaviour, and re-engage positively with learning. You will play a key role in delivering behaviour support strategies, promoting restorative practice, and building strong, trusting relationships with pupils. Success in this role comes from remaining calm under pressure, maintaining consistent boundaries, and encouraging young people to develop confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
