The London Fire Brigade is seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative / Driver to support the Operations Support Centre. This role plays a vital part in ensuring frontline teams are equipped with the essential supplies and equipment they need to serve and protect London.

You will be responsible for warehouse operations, stock control, and delivery of goods, helping maintain efficient and responsive support services.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Duties

• Receive, check and process deliveries against purchase orders
\n
• Pick, pack and issue stock accurately
\n
• Maintain stock records and update systems
\n
• Support urgent requests for essential operational equipment
\n
• Conduct stock checks and report discrepancies
\n
• Ensure safe storage, labelling and security of goods
\n

Driving Duties

\n
• Deliver and collect goods across London using fleet vehicles
\n
• Complete scheduled delivery routes and ad hoc collections
\n
• Obtain proof of delivery and maintain accurate logs
\n
• Carry out vehicle checks, reporting defects and maintaining cleanliness
\n
• Support mail and consumable distribution to operational sites
\n

Essential Experience & Skills

\n
• Experience in a warehouse or stores environment
\n
• Experience handling stock, deliveries, and record keeping
\n
• Full, clean UK driving licence
\n
• Experience driving a 3.5 tonne van and completing multiple daily deliveries
\n
• Ability to safely move heavy items (with lifting aids)
\n
• Strong organisational and communication skills
\n
• Basic IT skills for stock systems and data entry
\n
