Job Description
Quality InspectorGloucestershire - Permanent – Full time – DaysResponsibilities:\n
- \n
- Carry out inspection activities on raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality requirements. \n
- Perform first-off, in-process and final inspections against engineering drawings and customer specifications. \n
- Complete goods-inward inspections and verify supplier-provided components meet required standards. \n
- Conduct dimensional inspections using a range of conventional measuring equipment. \n
- Support the creation and completion of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and associated documentation. \n
- Accurately record inspection findings and maintain quality records for traceability and audit purposes. \n
- Identify non-conforming products and work with production teams to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions. \n
- Assist with internal quality audits and support compliance with relevant quality management systems. \n
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns and improve product conformity. \n
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analysing inspection data and identifying opportunities for process enhancement. \n
- Ensure all inspection equipment is maintained, calibrated and fit for purpose. \n
- Contribute to the development of inspection procedures, work instructions and quality documentation. \n
- \n
- Previous experience within a Quality Inspection role in a manufacturing or engineering environment. \n
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T). \n
- Experience carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections. \n
- Knowledge and experience of FAIR creation and quality documentation requirements. \n
- Competent using a range of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other precision inspection tools. \n
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), with programming experience advantageous. \n
- Good understanding of quality systems and inspection processes. \n
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues. \n
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to maintain accurate inspection records. \n
- Effective communication skills and ability to work closely with production, engineering and quality teams. \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. \n
- \n
- Experience within precision engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive or similar regulated industries. \n
- Familiarity with ISO9001 and other recognised quality management systems. \n
- Internal auditing experience or training. \n
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies. \n
