\nLocation: Kent (Hybrid working model – 2 days on site)
\nSalary: £30,000 - £33,000
\nContract: Permanent

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join a busy Finance team, playing a vital role in ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time while maintaining strong financial controls and supporting the wider organisation.
\nThe Role
\nAs an Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for delivering an efficient purchase ledger service. You will process invoices and payments, manage supplier relationships, support procurement compliance, and help drive continuous improvement across finance processes.
\nKey Accounts Payable Officer duties include:

- Processing and coding purchase invoices and Direct Debits \n
- Managing Accounts Payable inboxes and resolving supplier queries \n
- Ensuring accurate VAT recovery in line with UK legislation \n
- Preparing and processing supplier payment runs \n
- Posting and reconciling bank transactions \n
- Reconciling supplier statements and maintaining accurate account balances \n
- Managing company credit card transactions and monthly reconciliations \n
- Maintaining supplier records and onboarding new suppliers \n
- Supporting Purchase Order compliance across the organisation \n
- Assisting with contract management activities, contract renewals and reporting \n
- Delivering training on finance and contract management systems \n
- Supporting cash flow reporting and accounts payable KPI monitoring \n
- Providing cover and support to colleagues within the Finance team as required \n
About You

- Previous experience within an Accounts Payable or Finance role \n
- Strong understanding of invoice processing and supplier payments \n
- Excellent reconciliation and problem-solving skills \n
- Knowledge of VAT and financial controls \n
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail \n
- Confident communication and customer service skills \n
- Experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel \n
- The ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of an organisation \n
