Practice Manager/Senior Accountant

Jennings Morton Friel Associates are partnering with a forward-thinking firm of Accountants in their recruitment for an ACCA/ACA qualified Practice Manager/Senior Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.

Duties for the position include:

• Working closely with the Director.
\n
• Helping to drive the business forward by engaging with warm leads passed over by the Director.
\n
• Take ownership for a portfolio of Clients.
\n
• Preparation of client’s monthly management accounts to agreed deadlines on various platforms either Client or Company (Xero, IRIS and Quickbooks).
\n
• Treasury management (including forecasts and transfer requests) setting up client payments on various banking platforms.
\n
• Corporate tax filings
\n
• Review of Client payrolls prepared by in-house payroll team on SAGE to ensure technical accuracy and compliance (Good knowledge of pension administration, staff expense payments, stock awards, variable compensation, leaver and starter issues).
\n
• Preparation of Statutory Accounts under UK GAAP on Caseware & filing clients' Statutory Accounts under UK GAAP with Company House and coordination with external auditors.
\n
• Preparation of client’s VAT and submission of quarterly VAT returns to HMRC
\n
• Company secretarial support for Clients.
\n
• Communicating with Clients to obtain approvals for purchases and staff expenses.
\n
• Checking Client staff expense submissions for compliance with VAT, payroll regulations and assistance with the filing of P11D returns and PSA submissions.

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified ACA or ACCA with varied experience working within a Accountancy firm.

The firm offers a hybrid working environment (2 days working from home).
