Financial Controller

London | Hybrid Working (4 days in the office)

Robert Half is exclusively partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed business to recruit a Financial Controller for its London-based finance team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious qualified accountant looking to take ownership of the financial control environment within a rapidly scaling organisation. Working closely with an experienced Head of Finance and senior leadership team, you'll play a pivotal role in building robust processes, delivering high-quality financial reporting and supporting the next phase of business growth.

The business operates within the real estate and flexible workspace sector and is backed by a well-established private equity investor. With ambitious expansion plans across London, this role offers significant exposure to investors, lenders and senior stakeholders whilst providing genuine scope to shape and improve the finance function.

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, management accounts production, compliance, treasury oversight and the management of outsourced finance providers.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys operating both strategically and in the detail, helping build scalable finance processes within an entrepreneurial environment.

• Own the month-end process and deliver accurate and timely management reporting, board packs and financial analysis.

• Prepare quarterly reporting for investors, lenders and external stakeholders.
\n
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
\n
• Maintain an audit-ready finance function and act as a key contact for external auditors.
\n
• Support statutory reporting and FRS 102 compliance requirements.
\n
• Oversee VAT, corporation tax and wider regulatory reporting obligations.
\n
• Manage relationships with outsourced finance providers and ensure quality delivery.
\n
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management processes.
\n
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and performance analysis.
\n
• Develop and strengthen financial controls, governance processes and finance policies.
\n
• Support strategic growth initiatives and wider business projects.

We are seeking a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a growing business environment and enjoys taking ownership.

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
\n
• Previous Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Finance Manager experience within a start up environement.
\n
• Strong financial and management reporting experience.
\n
• Audit background or significant experience managing external audits.
\n
• Excellent understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and compliance.
\n
• Experience working within a fast-paced, changing environment.
\n
• Strong Excel and finance systems capability.
\n
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
\n
• Proactive, resilient and solutions-focused mindset.
