\n\nAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an SDI Associate Engineer to join one of our longstanding clients, working within the System Development & Integration team in R&D.
\n\nThis is a hands-on technical role supporting hardware troubleshooting, system testing and integration activity across IVD instrumentation platform hardware. The role will act as a key communication bridge between hardware engineers and assay scientists, supporting the development of reliable, high-performance point-of-care medical diagnostic systems.

The Requirements:
\n- \n
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline \n
- Foundational experience or background in product development, technical support or laboratory test environments \n
- Strong hands-on system troubleshooting skills \n
- Good theoretical and practical understanding of engineering disciplines, such as electronics, software, mechanical or optical engineering \n
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, Python, MATLAB or LabVIEW \n
- Strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills \n
- Detail-oriented, proactive and analytical approach \n
- Understanding of medical device or IVD regulatory standards, including ISO 13485 and ISO 14971, would be highly advantageous \n
The Role:
\n- \n
- Execute day-to-day full system testing on IVD instrumentation platform hardware in line with project goals \n
- Support integration between platform hardware and assay development workflows \n
- Act as a technical liaison between hardware engineers and assay scientists \n
- Analyse technical data and present clear, data-driven findings within set deadlines \n
- Assist with technical investigations and hardware troubleshooting in laboratory environments \n
- Participate in defect and bug tracking meetings \n
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including test protocols, investigation logs and reports \n
- Ensure documentation and activity complies with Quality Management System requirements \n
- Support compliance with regulatory standards, including ISO 13485, ISO 14971, EN 60601 and EN 61010 \n
- Suggest continuous improvements to test protocols and methodologies based on real-world testing insights \n
