\nLocation: Thornton Heath, Croydon
\nSalary: £42,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
\nHours: Full-time, rota-based, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and participation in the on-call rota.
\nThe Role
\nOur client is looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading a children's residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people. You'll play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home, supporting staff, maintaining high-quality care standards and helping create a safe, stable and nurturing environment.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day leadership of the home. \n
- Lead shifts, supervise staff and promote a positive team culture. \n
- Ensure the home remains compliant with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards. \n
- Oversee care planning, key working and support plans to achieve positive outcomes. \n
- Promote safeguarding, manage incidents appropriately and support multi-agency working. \n
- Monitor records, audits and quality assurance processes to ensure continuous improvement. \n
- Assist with Ofsted inspections, action plans and maintaining inspection readiness. \n
- Support recruitment, staff development, supervision and performance management. \n
- Participate in the management on-call rota and provide leadership cover when required. \n
About You
\nYou'll be a confident and supportive leader with experience within children's residential care and a passion for delivering outstanding care.
\nEssential Requirements
\n- \n
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). \n
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it). \n
- Previous experience within an Ofsted-regulated children's residential setting. \n
- Experience supervising or leading teams within residential childcare. \n
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. \n
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills. \n
- Full UK Driving Licence. \n
- Flexible to work a rota, including weekends, bank holidays and on-call duties. \n
