VRF -179163Commercial Manager - Birmingham£45,000 per annum + Car Allowance37.5 hours - Permanent Contract10th August 2026About the roleTo provide independent commercial leadership, governance and financial assurance across all Property Services contracts. The Commercial Manager will act as Trident's intelligent client, ensuring contractor costs are robustly challenged, value for money is achieved, commercial risk is managed and contractual entitlements are fully realised.What you'll be doingLead the validation and approval of contractor valuations, applications for payment, and final accountsIndependently review, challenge and authorise all contractor variation claims ensuring adequate evidence, contractual entitlement, value for money and budget availability prior to approval.Establish robust cost control processes across all contractsIdentify and mitigate cost leakage and over-claiming and commercial riskProvide commercial oversight of repairs, voids, planned works, and compliance contractsEnsure contractors operate within agreed pricing frameworks and contract termsContribute to LTFP assumptions and investment modelling and extension of Time assessment (where applicable)Who we're looking for?Commercial/QS experience in housing or constructionManaging valuations, variations, and final accountsWorking on multi-million-pound contractsChallenging contractor costs and delivery controlNEC/JCT administrationDegree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent experience)MRICS or working towardsExperience of JCT/NECWhy join us?This is not just a ‘job' this is the feeling of knowing that you are part of something bigger and being able to go home each day with job satisfaction and pride in what is achieved by Trident Group every day.Our purpose is putting people and communities at the heart of our services and the safe homes we provide.
