Security Assurance Analyst - DV ClearedLocation: Farnborough, Hampshire, UK (5 days on-site)Employment Type: Permanent, Full-TimeSecurity Clearance : Developed Vetting (DV)Salary : £70,000 - £80,000 + BenefitsKey ResponsibilitiesSecurity Design Review & AssessmentConduct detailed security reviews of IT architecture and design documentationAssess security controls and identify gaps against MOD security requirementsEvaluate threat models and security assumptions underlying IT designsReview security specifications for completeness and MOD complianceIdentify residual security risks and recommend mitigation strategiesSupport authority leads and advise third partiesMOD Compliance & Standards VerificationVerify IT designs comply with Defence Security Policy and MOD Classification GuidesAssess adherence to ITAR regulations and export control requirementsReview security controls against IS1 (IS1A) and other MOD security standardsValidate data handling and classification complianceEnsure personnel security and vetting requirements are addressedDocumentation & ReportingPrepare detailed security assessment reports documenting findings and recommendationsDocument security control specifications and implementation guidanceCreate security assessment matrices and compliance traceability matricesProvide executive summaries of security findings for stakeholder communicationMaintain security documentation for compliance and audit purposesRisk Analysis & Mitigation PlanningConduct security risk assessments using appropriate risk methodologiesDevelop risk matrices and prioritise risks based on likelihood and impactRecommend security controls and mitigation strategies for identified risksSupport risk management processes and evidence gathering for MOD approvalTrack risk mitigation and provide assurance of control implementationSecurity Control ValidationValidate implementation of recommended security controlsReview security test plans and validation approachesProvide assurance that security controls operate effectivelySupport security certification and accreditation activitiesDocument security assurance evidence for MOD complianceStakeholder CommunicationCommunicate security findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholdersFacilitate security discussions between design team and customer security teamsExplain complex security concepts in accessible languageSupport customer understanding of MOD security requirements and implicationsEssential RequirementsTechnical KnowledgeComprehensive understanding of IT security controls and security frameworksStrong knowledge of network, infrastructure, application and data securityUnderstanding of threat modelling and risk assessment methodologiesFamiliarity with MOD security requirements, Classification Guides and security policyKnowledge of ITAR regulations and export control requirementsUnderstanding of security standards (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, etc.)Practical knowledge of common IT architectures and technologiesPersonal AttributesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent leadership skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detail with ability to identify gaps and inconsistenciesCollaborative approach to working with architects and technical teamsAbility to explain complex security concepts clearlyProfessional approach to challenging design decisions on security groundsCommitment to security excellence and MOD complianceDesirable RequirementsExperience with defence or aerospace security programmesCISSP, CISM or equivalent security certificationExperience with CESG or MOD security assessment methodologiesKnowledge of Common Criteria or other formal security evaluation frameworksFamiliarity with joint design team processes and defence programme deliveryBackground in architecture, infrastructure or systems engineeringWhat we OfferCompetitive salary and benefits packageEnhanced pension and private medical insuranceFlexible working arrangementsProfessional development and security training supportOpportunity to work on high-impact defence programmesExposure to cutting-edge defence technology and security challengesReasonable Adjustments:Respect and equality are core values to us.
