Senior Mechanical Design EngineerWould you like to be part of Vital Energis Strategy of Growth?Due to our ongoing growth, we are looking for a number of Senior Mechanical Design Engineers to join our growing teams based in our Blackburn, Glasgow and London offices.We are currently looking for:Intermediate Design EngineersSenior Design EngineersPrincipal Design EngineersAbout the roleAs part of the Engineering Design team you will be involved in producing a broad range of conceptual to fully detailed designs covering things such as District and Communal Heating Systems, Energy Centres, Trigeneration Solutions and Heat Pumps Due to the nature of the role you will be involved in projects at a variety of stages and locations utilising a range of technologies requiring initial conceptual work, site investigations, surveys, client meetings, project submissions and presentations.The CompanyVital Energi is a leading provider of renewable energy infrastructure and systems to the public and private sectors. We are supporting Hospitals, Universities, New Build developments, Towns and Cities as well as Industrial and Commercial clients to decarbonise their buildings.We have and continue to work on ground-breaking projects throughout the UK which are supporting the UKs Net Zero targets, such as the recently announced £1 billion low-carbon infrastructure project for Westminster.With plans to double our headcount over the coming years, supported by offices opening in new locations across the country and our strong investment pipeline, coupled with our expansion into new markets such as industrial power generation with our very own Energy-from-Waste facility, there is no better time to join the family here at Vital Energi.KeyresponsibilitiesSupporting the design of distributed energy schemes, energy centres, district heating networks and other major projectsInterpreting, appraising and documenting client requirementsCarrying out calculations, equipment selection and process operationProducing schematics and detailed drawingsMaintaining an awareness of cost implications within the design processDealing with design issues and minimising their impactEnsuring compliance with CDM requirements and in-house processesConducting HAZOP studies and Risk AssessmentsAssisting in specifying mechanical aspects for tendering worksWhat you will needE ducated to at least HNC/HND level in Mechanical, Building Services or similar Engineering disciplineHave at least 3+ years of relevant experienceDesign experience in at least one of the following fields: Building Services, CHP, Boilers/Heating, HVAC, Steam, Air Handling, Cooling, Renewable Energy (e.g Solar or Heat Pumps), or similarProficient in AutoCADFull UK manual driving licenceThe Package:S alary negotiable DOECar AllowanceContributory Company Pension SchemeNon-contributory death-in-service insuranceEmployee Assistance Programme25 Days Holiday plus 8 days bank holidays.Additional holidays awarded in line with length of serviceOption to purchase/sell additional holidaysOnsite gym/wellbeing centre at our Blackburn Head OfficeDiscounted gym membership across the UKEV charging points where possibleApplications will be processed within 28 days of receipt.
