Maintenance Technician Location: PeterleeSalary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annumJob Type: PermanentShift Pattern: Rotating 2 Shift Pattern (Monday to Friday)Days: 6:00am - 2:00pmBacks: 2:00pm - 10:00pmKES Solutions are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Peterlee for a Maintenance Technician to join their engineering team on a permanent basis.The successful candidate will hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have practical, hands-on engineering experience gained within a manufacturing, industrial or similar environment. You will have experience working with machinery, using hand and power tools, and carrying out maintenance, repairs or fault finding on equipment.The Role As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring plant machinery and equipment are maintained to a high standard, helping to minimise downtime and support efficient production.Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical and electrical repairs.Carry out maintenance and repairs on pumps, motors, control systems and associated equipment.Identify and resolve breakdowns to minimise production downtime.Assist with plant clean-downs and routine equipment inspections.Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.Support plant, machinery and equipment improvement projects.Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the engineering department.What We're Looking For To be successful in this role, you will have:A minimum Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).Previous experience working as a Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Engineer or in a similar engineering role.Hands-on experience working with machinery, plant equipment and engineering tools.Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.A good understanding of health and safety within an engineering environment.The ability to work independently and as part of a team.Experience working within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment would be advantageous.What's on Offer Permanent position.Salary of £38,000 - £42,000 per annum , depending on experience.Monday to Friday rotating 2 shift pattern.Ongoing training and development opportunities.Opportunity to build a long-term career with a successful manufacturing business.Due to the high volume of candidates responding to our adverts, unfortunately we are not always able to provide individual feedback.
