\nAs a Hard Gauge Technician, you will carry out inline inspection of Powertrain components within our Advanced Manufacturing Centre. Using a range of precision measuring equipment, you will ensure components meet engineering specifications, identify non-conformances, and work closely with Production and Engineering to maintain quality standards and support continuous improvement.
\nThe Role:

Carry out inline inspection of manufactured engine blocks, cylinder heads and other Powertrain components in line with engineering requirements.
\n - \n
Use a range of precision measuring equipment, including digital calipers, micrometers, air gauges, thread gauges, plug gauges, Rok-It gauges and a Mahr contour tracer.
\n - \n
Complete inspections accurately and within the required timescales to support production.
\n - \n
Identify, report and escalate any quality concerns or non-conformances to Production and Engineering teams.
\n - \n
Work collaboratively with Engineering to support investigation and resolution of quality issues.
\n - \n
Contribute to continuous improvement and 5S activities within the department.
\n - \n
Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure compliance with quality procedures.
\n - \n
Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
\n - \n
Support the Companys compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile:

Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
\n - \n
Experience using precision measuring equipment and interpreting measurement results.
\n - \n
Strong attention to detail with a logical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
\n - \n
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
\n - \n
A positive, flexible approach and willingness to work as part of an integrated team.
\n - \n
An engineering apprenticeship is desirable.
\n - \n
An understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T would be advantageous.
\n - \n
Experience within metrology or operating a CMM would be beneficial.
