Services Technician, Maintenance (5731)
37 hours per week, permanent post
£36,430 - £39,362 per annum (inclusive of £2,997 Distant Islands Allowance)
The successful candidate will lead and co-ordinate the delivery of all mechanical and electrical (M&E) service requirements across the Comhairle estate. Working in partnership with the Property Management Section, you will be responsible for agreeing priorities and developing programmes of work arising from identified remedial actions, reactive faults and service improvements.
\nYou will manage service contracts and direct framework contractors to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of works, maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role also involves developing and delivering remedial and improvement works, preparing technical specifications, supporting energy conservation and renewable projects, and providing specialist technical advice to operational and administrative staff.
\nYou should have extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical repairs, maintenance and improvement works within building environments, together with a sound understanding of current I.E.E. Regulations, Building Standards, statutory compliance requirements and health and safety practices relevant to the building services industry.
\nYou must hold a recognised, time-served apprenticeship in a relevant building services discipline or an HNC (or equivalent) in a related field, together with a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience.
\nA current valid driving licence is essential.
\nSalary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
