Senior Python Developer - Risk & PnL Team
\nLocation: London (Minimum 50% onsite)
\nContract Length: Initial 6-month contract (funded for several years with strong extension prospects)

\nOverview
\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join a high-performing Risk & PnL Team supporting a critical trading platform within a leading financial services environment.
\nThe team is responsible for the development and enhancement of TRACC, a business-critical application used by the Derivatives Execution & Clearing (DEC) business.
\nThe Role
\nWorking within a collaborative team of 3 Developers, 1 Business Analyst, 1 Tester and the Team Lead, you will be involved in all aspects of the platform's development and ongoing enhancement.
\nThe role covers:

- Core Python application development \n
- Web API design, development and maintenance \n
- Database development and optimisation \n
- Infrastructure and Server Side processes \n
- Front End enhancements using JavaScript/Angular \n
- Test automation and CI/CD improvements \n
- Working directly with business users and Middle Office stakeholders to understand and deliver requirements \n
You will play a key role in driving Agile best practices, promoting high-quality engineering standards and helping shape the future direction of the platform.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain Python-based applications and services \n
- Build and enhance APIs supporting critical business functionality \n
- Deliver enhancements and features through the Jira backlog \n
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyse and refine requirements \n
- Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions and solution design sessions \n
- Demonstrate completed work and new functionality to stakeholders \n
- Champion automated testing and continuous integration practices \n
- Identify opportunities for automation, simplification and platform improvements \n
Essential Skills & Experience
\n- \n
- Expert-level Python development experience \n
- Strong experience building and maintaining Web APIs \n
- Solid understanding of SQL and database design \n
- JavaScript, HTML and web application development experience \n
- Proven experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) \n
- Strong focus on automated testing and deployment practices \n
- Experience working with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins \n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills \n
