Snowflake Architect
Contract | 6 months initially (likely extension)
Location: Exeter (Hybrid)
Rate: £650 - £700
Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required

I'm currently recruiting for a Snowflake Lead Architect to join a major public sector technology programme, supporting the design, governance, and optimisation of an enterprise-scale Snowflake platform.

\n

This is a hands-on architecture role where you'll help shape the future Snowflake operating model, improve platform capability, and support a wider team in maximising the value of the platform.

\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n
    \n
  • Design and implement enterprise-scale Snowflake architecture and platform solutions
  • \n
  • Lead platform engineering, governance, security, and optimisation activities
  • \n
  • Define best practices across RBAC, security controls, monitoring, observability, and FinOps
  • \n
  • Develop Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code solutions for Snowflake environments
  • \n
  • Support platform maturity assessments and define future operating models
  • \n
  • Knowledge share and help upskill internal teams on Snowflake capabilities
  • \n

Required Experience:

\n
    \n
  • Strong experience as a Lead Architect/Snowflake Architect
  • \n
  • Extensive Snowflake Data Cloud design and implementation experience
  • \n
  • Experience delivering Snowflake platforms at enterprise scale
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of Snowflake governance, security, RBAC, and optimisation
  • \n
  • Hands-on Terraform/Infrastructure as Code experience
  • \n
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
  • \n
  • Background in platform engineering, automation, and CI/CD
  • \n
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • \n
\n

Desirable:

\n
    \n
  • Snowflake certification or previous experience working directly with Snowflake
  • \n
  • Experience within Defence, Government, National Security, or other regulated environments
  • \n
\n

Clearance Requirements:
\n Active SC Clearance is essential.
