Employment Lawyer

A local authority is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join the legal team on a full-time basis for an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension.

This is an excellent opportunity for an employment lawyer with either a public sector or private practice background to undertake a varied and interesting caseload, supporting a busy in-house legal service.

The Role

You will handle a broad range of employment law matters, including:

• Employment Tribunal claims
\n
• Advising on disciplinary and grievance matters
\n
• Redundancy and restructuring projects
\n
• TUPE and workforce-related issues
\n
• General employment law advisory work
\n
• Supporting HR and senior management on complex employment matters
\n

Candidate Requirements

\n
• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with employment law experience
\n
• Proven ability to manage a varied employment caseload with minimal supervision
\n
• Local government experience is desirable but not essential
\n
• Candidates from both private practice and public sector backgrounds are encouraged to apply

• Available to start at short notice
\n

Working Arrangements

• Full-time position

• Initial 3-month assignment
\n
• Hybrid working- office attendance required at least 3 days per week
\n
