Job Description

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor, seeking a new role in the Social Housing sector? My client has an immediate opportunity to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Senior Contract Manager, the successful applicant will work on a hybrid basis, providing professional quantity surveying support across repairs, maintenance and investment programmes, ensuring effective cost control, value for money, and financial compliance.Responsibilities:\n

  • Manage and oversee the commercial and financial aspects of the repairs, maintenance, and asset investment contact.
  • \n
  • Prepare, monitor, and report on budgets, forecasts, and expenditure to ensure effective cost control and value for money.
  • \n
  • Assess, validate, and process contractor valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
  • \n
  • Review and challenge contractor costs, variations, and claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual terms and Schedule of Rates (SoRs).
  • \n
  • Undertake cost analysis and benchmarking to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • \n
  • Support the procurement of contractors and consultants, including preparation of tender documentation, pricing analysis, and evaluation.
  • \n
  • Assist in the management of contracts from tender through to final account, ensuring financial and contractual compliance.
  • \n
  • Work closely with the Senior Contract Manager to monitor contractor performance in relation to cost, quality, and delivery.
  • \n
  • Contribute to the management of disrepair cases, insurance claims, and complex works from a cost and contractual perspective.
  • \n
Requirements:\n
    \n
  • Degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or related field.
  • \n
  • Experience in quantity surveying or commercial role within construction, housing, or property maintenance.
  • \n
  • Experience of cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • \n
  • Experience of working with contractors and managing payments, valuations, and variations.
  • \n
