Electrical Maintenance Technician (Shift)

Horsham, West Sussex Full-time | Shift-based (4 on / 4 off) £49,183.68 rising to £52,612.56 after probation

The Role

\n

An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a busy, fast-paced operations team at a large-scale processing facility in West Sussex.

\n

This role is key to maintaining plant performance and ensuring maximum availability through a proactive and reactive maintenance approach. Working on a rotating shift pattern, you will play a critical part in delivering safe, efficient engineering operations while driving continuous improvement.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns efficiently
  • \n
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults across a range of plant equipment
  • \n
  • Work on components including:\n
      \n
    • Sensors, relays, contactors and control panels
    • \n
    • AC/DC motors and motor control centres (MCCs)
    • \n
    • PLC systems (fault finding desirable – Siemens S7 preferred)
    • \n
  • \n
  • Support ongoing engineering projects and process improvements
  • \n
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance, and housekeeping
  • \n
  • Report all incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly
  • \n
  • Interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
  • \n
  • Work with controls and instrumentation systems (e.g. pressure, temperature, flow)
  • \n

About You

\n
    \n
  • Qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (HNC or equivalent)
  • \n
  • Experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or automated environment
  • \n
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • \n
  • Good understanding of electrical systems, controls, and PLC hardware
  • \n
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a shift team
  • \n
  • 18th Edition (BS7671) is advantageous but not essential
  • \n
