Description

The Senior Finance Analyst plays a key role in supporting the operational teams to deliver their financial targets and budgets. You will provide your business partners with robust analysis and proposed solutions that drive conversations in operational team meetings, identifying efficiencies and constructively challenging existing practices. By reviewing internal and external factors, the post holder will deliver insight and tools to help drive the business forward. You will be support your Senior Finance Business Partner in meetings, by providing them with key financial analysis to allow them to offer advice and financial perspective to support decision-making. Recognising the importance of cross-functional collaboration, you will work to build, maintain, and harness strong relationships. Responsible for providing finance business partnering for key functional stakeholders including monthly P&L support in line with the RHS month end timetable, alongside preparation of month end commentary, providing insights and suggestions for remedial activities;

Focus of the role is to provide overall financial insights into business drivers in order to deliver and develop the RHS strategic objectives and annual budget;

Support the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Collaborating with stakeholders to gather inputs and validate assumptions.

Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across systems and reports, implementing improvements to reporting processes and promoting automation initiatives.

Provide key analytical financial and KPI reporting to senior stakeholders.

Support stakeholders by providing variance analysis and overall financial modelling to drive business decisions;

Challenge unusual P&L movements, forecasts and fluctuations to ensure forecast and actual financial performance is robust;

Support business stakeholders to ensure the correct finance processes are adopted including Capital Request and business cases

Able to use sound business acumen to assess new ideas, both from an operational and financial perspective and then be able to articulate the impacts with clear and meaningful recommendations;

Provide support and detail for key discussion points for Senior Finance Business Partner when meeting with relevant Directors, with a willingness to step up in meetings if required

Act as the finance ambassador to build and maintain partnerships to develop strong networks across the area of responsibility;.

Profile

A successful Finance Analyst/Assistant Finance Business Partner should have:

ACCA/CIMA part qualified.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Advanced Excel skills and intermediate PowerPoint skills along with proficient MS Office

Interprets financial reports and communicates implications clearly and effectively to non-finance audiences

Builds strong networks and relationships across areas of responsibility.

Proven experience in business partnering roles.

Advises on financial processes and reporting requirements, supporting timely delivery.

Effective communicator with the ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
