Senior AccountantLocation: MidlandsSalary: £48,000 – £60,000Type: PermanentWorking pattern: HybridWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a successful and growing accountancy practice in the Midlands.This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who has built their career within practice and is ready to take the next step into a role with greater responsibility for review, technical accounting, client interaction and team development.The Role:\n

  • Taking ownership of the review process, ensuring accounts and compliance work are accurate, complete and technically robust
  • \n
  • Working across a varied client base, from owner-managed businesses through to larger and consolidated groups
  • \n
  • Reviewing and challenging financial information, with a strong focus on statutory accounts and group consolidations
  • \n
  • Providing technical support on accounting matters and helping resolve more complex queries
  • \n
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and helping them understand their numbers
  • \n
  • Working closely with auditors and managing queries through to resolution
  • \n
  • Checking and developing the work of more junior accountants, helping them improve both technically and professionally
  • \n
  • Providing guidance to the wider team when more complex accounting issues arise
  • \n
  • Getting involved in advisory work and added-value projects where your experience can make an impact
  • \n
The role is primarily focused on statutory accounts and compliance, with the opportunity to gain exposure to wider advisory work.You will have regular client interaction and will be expected to build strong professional relationships, although responsibility for overall client portfolio management sits elsewhere within the business.About You:\n

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • \n
  • Experienced within an accountancy practice
  • \n
  • Strong technically, with solid experience across statutory accounts
  • \n
  • Experienced in group consolidations and consolidated financial reporting
  • \n
  • Confident reviewing the work of others rather than solely focusing on preparation
  • \n
  • Comfortable dealing with auditors and resolving technical accounting queries
  • \n
  • Experienced working with owner-managed and growing businesses
  • \n
  • A confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
  • \n
  • Detail-focused, organised and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • \n
  • Keen to support and develop junior members of a team
  • \n
