Job Description

Tower Hamlets is looking for an experienced Interim Pay & Reward Officer to join the HR & OD team on a temporary basis.

\n

This role will work under the Pay and Reward Specialist supporting the delivery of pay, reward and job evaluation activity across the Council. Working closely with managers, HR colleagues and senior stakeholders, you will help ensure that pay and grading decisions and activities are applied fairly, consistently and in line with Council policy.

Responsibilities Interim Pay & Reward Officer

  • Support the delivery of the Council’s pay, reward and job evaluation processes working under the direction of the Pay and Reward Specialist.
  • \n
  • Undertake job evaluation assessments and prepare supporting documentation.
  • \n
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and HR colleagues on pay and grading matters.
  • \n
  • Assist with organisational change and restructuring activity through job evaluation and grading support.
  • \n
  • Support the preparation of reports, papers and recommendations relating to pay and reward matters.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is complete and compliant.
  • \n
  • Support the administration and coordination of job evaluation panels and appeals.
  • \n
  • Analyse pay and workforce data to identify trends, risks and areas for review.
  • \n
  • Respond to employee and manager queries relating to pay, grading and reward.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively across HR & OD to support workforce and organisational priorities.
  • \n
  • Support the People Resourcing Board with pay related decisions.
  • \n

Experience Required Interim Pay & Reward Officer

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience working in a pay, reward, job evaluation or HR environment.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of job evaluation principles and pay structures.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting pay and grading reviews.
  • \n
  • Experience working within a large and complex organisation.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to interpret information and make evidence-based recommendations.
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • \n

Desirable Experience Interim Pay & Reward Officer

  • Experience within Local Government.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of NJC job evaluation arrangements.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting organisational change, restructures or workforce reviews.
  • \n
  • Understanding of equal pay considerations.
  • \n
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience.
  • \n
