VEHICLE TECHNICIAN
\nLocation: Basingstoke, Hampshire
\nSalary: £35,000 - £60,000 OTE + Competitive Basic + Bonus + Benefits
\nOVERVIEW
\nAn established automotive retailer is seeking a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join its busy workshop team in Basingstoke.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Technician to work within a modern, well-equipped dealership environment, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repair work and vehicle inspections to manufacturer standards.
\nThe role offers strong earning potential through a performance-related bonus structure, with opportunities for ongoing training and progression.
\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
\n• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair work on a wide range of vehicles.
\n• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
\n• Complete vehicle health checks and identify additional repair requirements.
\n• Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely and to manufacturer standards.
\n• Accurately record work completed and parts used on dealership systems.
\n• Liaise with Service Advisors and Workshop Controllers regarding repair progress.
\n• Maintain a high level of productivity and quality of workmanship.
\n• Ensure warranty procedures and compliance guidelines are followed.
\n• Support workshop efficiency by working collaboratively with colleagues.
\n• Keep up to date with technical training and manufacturer developments.
\nCANDIDATE PROFILE
\n• Qualified Vehicle Technician (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
\n• Experience working within a franchised dealership or high-quality independent workshop.
\n• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
\n• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.
\n• Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
\n• Full UK Driving Licence.
\nDESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
\n• MOT Tester qualification (advantageous).
\n• Manufacturer brand training or accreditation.
\n• Experience with diagnostics and complex fault finding.
\n• Hybrid or EV training (desirable but not essential).
