The RolePurchasing & Customer Service AdministratorAre you passionate about horses and equestrian products? Do you have strong administration, purchasing or customer service experience and enjoy working in a busy, varied role?We are delighted to be supporting a growing pet and equestrian retailer in Durham with the recruitment of a Purchasing & Customer Service Administrator. This is a varied, hands-on role within a small and friendly team, ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of purchasing administration, systems work, supplier coordination and customer support.The business trades through both a physical store and online channels including Shopify, Amazon and eBay, so this role would suit someone who is organised, adaptable and confident managing a range of tasks across different platforms.The RoleYou will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day purchasing and customer service function, ensuring stock, product information and customer queries are managed accurately and efficiently. This is a busy and varied position where no two days will be the same.Key responsibilities will include:\n

- Creating and submitting purchase orders to suppliers \n
- Supporting supplier administration and manual ordering through supplier portals \n
- Receiving stock deliveries into the system following goods-in checks \n
- Matching supplier invoices against purchase orders \n
- Creating new product listings and updating product data \n
- Syncing new products through to online sales channels \n
- Supporting stock take processes and updating system records \n
- Handling customer returns, exchanges and fault queries \n
- Responding to customers via phone, email, social media and online platforms \n
- Tracking orders and arranging return labels where required \n
- Supporting in-store promotions and merchandising administration \n

- Previous experience in a purchasing, administration or customer service role \n
- Has experience working with horse products, equestrian supplies or within an equestrian retail environment \n
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills \n
- Confidence communicating with customers and suppliers \n
- The ability to manage multiple tasks at once \n
- Good IT skills and confidence using business systems \n
- Experience with ERP, EPOS, Shopify, NetSuite, Amazon or eBay would be beneficial, but is not essential \n
- A positive, team-focused approach and willingness to support a small business environment \n
