Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Events Manager to join a well-established national charity on a 9-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. This role will be responsible for delivering key fundraising events, including a flagship virtual fundraising challenge and a major marathon programme, while managing an Events Executive and contributing to the development of new fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:\n

  • Deliver and manage fundraising events to achieve recruitment, participation and income targets
  • \n
  • Lead on a flagship virtual fundraising challenge and oversee a major marathon fundraising programme
  • \n
  • Line manage and support an Events Executive
  • \n
  • Build and maintain relationships with supporters, sponsors, suppliers, volunteers and internal stakeholders
  • \n
  • Develop and deliver multi-channel communications and marketing campaigns
  • \n
  • Manage event budgets, project plans and operational delivery
  • \n
  • Coordinate event logistics, participant journeys and volunteer engagement activities
  • \n
  • Monitor event performance and implement improvements to maximise fundraising income and supporter retention
  • \n
  • Ensure all events comply with relevant legal, health and safety, and insurance requirements
  • \n
  • Lead stakeholder meetings and provide regular updates on event progress and performance
  • \n
  • Support the development and launch of new fundraising products
  • \n
  • Contribute to wider fundraising objectives across the organisation's events portfolio
  • \n
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges throughout the event lifecycle
  • \n
Ideal Candidate Profile:\n

  • Proven experience delivering successful fundraising or participation events
  • \n
  • Demonstrable experience growing event participation and income
  • \n
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • \n
  • Previous experience managing or supervising staff
  • \n
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities
  • \n
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • \n
  • Experience developing supporter engagement and marketing campaigns
  • \n
  • Competent budget management skills
  • \n
  • Experience using CRM, fundraising or event management systems
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • \n
  • Self-motivated, proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • \n
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • \n
  • Comfortable working occasional evenings and weekends when required
  • \n
  • Full UK driving licence desirable
  • \n
  • Empathy with the organisation's charitable objectives would be advantageous
  • \n

Location: Victoria, London

\n

Working Pattern: Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 office days every 2 weeks

\n

Hours: 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

\n

Length: 9-Month FTC (Maternity Cover)

\n

Salary: £28,000 per annum

\n

Start Date: August/September
