Would suit a Transport Administrator, a Junior Transport Planner or a Supply Chain Graduate with placement year.

Our client is a product sourcing company and supplier to retail who due to continued growth now have an excellent opportunity for a Junior Transport Planner to join their team in Wigan.

Your role will be to:

\n
• Assist with daily route planning and vehicle scheduling activities.
\n
• Support the optimisation of routes to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
\n
• Control booking capacity for all sites, ensuring we are compliant with lead time SLAs
\n
• Liaise with customer service, warehouse, and operational teams to ensure smooth delivery execution.
\n
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, driver hours regulations and company policies.
\n
• Produce daily vehicle utilisation reports for key stakeholders
\n
• Provide administrative support to the transport planning team.
\n

The successful candidate will have:

\n
• Previous route/transport planning experience of at least 12-months is desirable although on the job training will be provided
\n
• Previous administrative experience is essential
\n
• Good knowledge of Microsoft packages (Excel, Word and Outlook)
\n
• 5x GCSE’s (English and Maths included)
\n
• Possess good attention to detail and have the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
\n
• Good communication skills
\n
• You should be reliable, trust worthy and a good team player
\n
• A degree level candidate is desirable but non-graduates with specific jobs skills, personal attributes and working experience in transport planning will also be considered.
\n
