Mechanical Installer Gas Suppression SystemsLocation: Dudley base with nationwide travel (Midlands, London & South)Salary: £45,000£50,000, depending on experienceAdditional package: Overtime, travel expenses, pension, training and company benefitsWe are recruiting on behalf of an established UK fire protection specialist seeking an experienced Mechanical Installer/Pipe Fitter to join its gas suppression division.This is a specialist position for someone with proven experience installing gaseous fire suppression pipeworknot a general plumbing or mechanical-services role. You will work on commercial, industrial and critical-environment projects throughout the UK.The RoleYou will install and modify high- and low-pressure pipework for gaseous fire suppression systems, including:HFC-227eaFK-5-1-12InergenArgoniteCO2 systemsYour responsibilities will include:Installing threaded pipework and high-pressure fittings to exact tolerancesSetting out pipework routes from approved drawings and manufacturer specificationsCutting, threading and assembling pipework to a high standardInstalling cylinders, manifolds, valves, discharge nozzles, brackets and supportsEnsuring pipe sizes, routes and nozzle positions comply with system designsAssisting with pressure testing, integrity testing and commissioningIdentifying design clashes, defects and non-conformancesCompleting installation records, test documentation and site reportsWorking closely with project managers, supervisors and commissioning engineersFollowing RAMS, permit-to-work procedures and site health and safety requirementsWorking in accordance with relevant British Standards, manufacturer guidance and applicable LPCB or FM requirementsAbout YouTo be considered, you must have:Previous experience installing gaseous fire suppression pipeworkStrong threaded-pipe installation skillsExperience working with high-pressure pipe systemsThe ability to interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics and installation manualsA high standard of workmanship and attention to detailThe ability to work independently on live sitesA valid CSCS Skilled Worker cardA full UK driving licenceA willingness to travel and stay away when projects require itManufacturer-specific suppression-system training is highly desirable. IPAF, PASMA, manual-handling and asbestos-awareness certificates would also be beneficial.TPBN1_UKTJ
