HGV Class 1 (C+E) Container Drivers – Southampton£18–£21.29ph | Weekly Pay | Ongoing Bookings | Immediate StartsSouthamptonStaffCo Direct is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Container Drivers for ongoing container haulage work based at Southampton Docks . We have immediate starts available for both day , night, and tramper drivers offering consistent Monday to Friday work with a well-established container transport operation.This is an excellent opportunity to join one of our valued clients, operating modern vehicles with regular work, competitive PAYE rates and long-term opportunities.Pay Rates (PAYE) • Monday – Friday Days – £18ph plus accrued holiday or £20.17ph including holiday pay• Monday – Friday Nights – £19ph plus accrued holiday or £21.29ph including holiday payWhat the role involves You'll be completing container haulage work to and from Southampton Docks , collecting and delivering shipping containers between the port, distribution centres and customer sites across the UK.We have a mixture of day, night, and tramping work available.Day shifts typically start between 05:00 and 07:00 , while night shifts generally start between 17:00 and 19:00 .Shifts typically average 10–12 hours , with a minimum of 8 hours guaranteed per shift. This is an ongoing Monday to Friday operation with immediate starts and regular weekly bookings.Our ideal candidate • Holds a valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence held for at least 1 year• Holds a valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card• Has no more than 6 penalty points (no DD, DR or IN endorsements)• Previous container haulage experience is preferred but not essential• Holds a valid Southampton Dock CardStaffCo Direct provides weekly pay, PPE, online driver portal access, pension scheme enrolment, ongoing support from a dedicated account team, and consistent long-term bookings.
