Logistics Controller - Part TimeLocation: Filton, BristolContract: 12-Month Temporary Assignment (Potential Extension)Hours: 20 hours per week (Wednesday & Thursday 7.5 hours, Friday 5 hours between 7:00am and 7:00pm, subject to business requirements)Hourly Rate: £27.00 PAYE / £36.12 UmbrellaSecurity Clearance: BPSS+ (completed by Airbus Security)Join Airbus as a Logistics ControllerGuidant Global is recruiting on behalf of Airbus for a Logistics Controller to join the team in Filton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics, freight forwarding, import/export, or transport operations professional to play a key role in supporting international supply chain activities within one of the world's leading aerospace organisations.Working closely with Airbus Operations, Customs teams and approved logistics partners, you will help ensure the efficient movement of goods across international and domestic networks while maintaining the highest standards of customs compliance and operational excellence.About the RoleAs a Logistics Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating transport activities, managing shipping documentation, supporting customs compliance processes and maintaining effective communication with internal stakeholders and external logistics providers. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, support supply chain operations and gain valuable experience within a world-renowned aerospace environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLogistics CoordinationCoordinate the end-to-end movement of domestic and international shipments through approved logistics providers.Monitor transport activities to ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective delivery.Work collaboratively with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve delays and operational issues.Support the optimisation of logistics processes and transport flows.Customs & Trade CompliancePrepare and manage shipping documentation required for international trade.Ensure accurate customs data, including commodity codes, country of origin, valuations, weights and dimensions.Support compliance with export control regulations and licensing requirements.Apply Incoterms knowledge to ensure correct allocation of responsibilities throughout the supply chain.Act as a key liaison between operational teams and Airbus Customs.Systems & Process ImprovementUse SAP to generate documentation such as delivery notes and customs invoices.Support the harmonisation and continuous improvement of logistics and customs processes.Collaborate with operational teams to improve consistency and efficiency across business areas.Stakeholder ManagementBuild strong working relationships across logistics, procurement, stores and customs teams.Maintain clear and proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.Monitor supplier performance and contribute to service improvement initiatives.What We're Looking ForWe're keen to hear from candidates who have experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding, shipping, customs administration, import/export operations or supply chain support roles.Essential Skills & ExperienceExperience within logistics, shipping, freight forwarding or transport operations.Understanding of international trade compliance and shipping documentation.Knowledge of customs processes, commodity codes, country of origin and import/export requirements.Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with a range of stakeholders.Desirable ExperienceKnowledge of export control regulations and licensing requirements.Experience within aerospace, manufacturing, engineering or highly regulated industries.Understanding of Incoterms and their practical application within international logistics.Why Apply?Opportunity to work with a globally recognised aerospace leader.Gain exposure to complex international trade, customs and logistics operations.Develop your expertise within a highly regulated and fast-paced environment.Work alongside experienced professionals across supply chain, customs and procurement functions.Potential for contract extension based on business requirements.Diversity & InclusionAt Guidant Global and Airbus, we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and supported.
