Manufacturing Engineering Technician£35-£40KThis is a 12 month Fixed-term contractThis role is focused within the production environment, ensuring complex electro-mechanical systems are built, tested and released to the highest quality standards.You will be responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through hands-on fault finding, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions to resolve production issues and improve yield, efficiency and product quality.A key aspect of the role is supporting engineering teams in the qualification and implementation of new manufacturing processes, including the development and maintenance of structured process documentation.Working within the Operational Excellence team, this is a highly cross-functional role interacting with Production, Manufacturing Engineering and R&D/NPI teams to ensure products are delivered on time, to specification and to customer requirements. The role will suit someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, problem solving, understanding complex systems and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities Provide daily hands-on engineering support to manufacturing cells to sustain and improve output, quality and efficiencySupport production lines through structured problem solving, ensuring effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actionsParticipate in tiered production meetings, escalating and communicating key production issues to relevant stakeholdersSupport TPM activities including equipment maintenance coordination, servicing and calibration schedulesWork closely with Production and Engineering teams to define and implement corrective actions and process improvementsSupport the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and R&D/NPI teamsAssist with implementation of production process changes and continuous improvement initiativesDevelop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, workflows and standard operating proceduresSupport improvements in yield, quality and overall production performanceEnsure compliance with health, safety and quality standards at all timesRequired Experience Essential Experience in a manufacturing, production, engineering or equipment maintenance environmentPractical, hands-on approach to engineering within a production settingStrong problem-solving skills with a structured and methodical approach to root cause analysisAbility to interpret engineering requirements and apply them in a manufacturing environmentCompetent IT skills for reporting, documentation and data handlingExperience working in a fast-paced operational or production environmentDesirable Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement environmentExposure to cross-functional engineering and production teamsExperience with equipment maintenance, repair or calibration activitiesExperience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or process validation activitiesQualifications Technical qualification in engineering, manufacturing or science discipline preferredEquivalent industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualificationsPersonal Profile Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelySelf-motivated with strong initiative and ability to work independently when requiredFlexible and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-changing environmentStrong communication skills with ability to engage across all levels of the organisationPractical, hands-on engineer with a proactive and solution-focused mindsetAble to translate engineering requirements into effective production solutionsDiligent, detail-oriented and committed to high standards of quality and workmanshipCollaborative team player who integrates well within cross-functional teamsWhy Join?
