Job Description
Embark on an engaging contract opportunity supporting students and educators as an integral part of special education and behavioral intervention services. This dynamic role offers a unique blend of high school teaching and behavior intervention consultation within a friendly, supportive environment. Split your time between providing direct instruction at the high school level in the morning, and delivering Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) guidance at the elementary level in the afternoon.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license, tier 3 or tier 4 required
- Proven experience or credentials as a Special Education Teacher and/or Behavior Specialist
- Strong background in developing and supporting positive behavioral interventions for students
- Expertise in collaborating effectively with teachers and staff to craft and implement student behavior plans
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instructional and behavioral strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Resume submission and proof of licensure are required for consideration
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction to high school students in a supportive, inclusive classroom environment (.5 FTE)
- Serve as a Behavior Intervention Specialist, consulting with elementary educators and staff to develop, monitor, and refine behavior support plans (.5 FTE)
- Work collaboratively with dedicated 'crew' teams at two locations, building strong relationships with students and colleagues
- Provide teacher consultation instead of managing an individual caseload for the BIS component
- Maintain accurate records on student progress and intervention outcomes
This contract position runs from late August 2026 through early June 2027, aligning with typical school day hours Monday through Friday.
