What You’ll Bring:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or equivalent state credentials
- Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing children in educational settings
- Proficiency and comfort with American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities used by students
- Strong collaboration skills to partner effectively with educators, families, and support teams
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to accommodate diverse learning and communication needs
- Enthusiasm for promoting access, self-advocacy, and independence among students
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and supports to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and learning environments as needed
- Support development of students’ language, literacy, and social-emotional skills
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning and meetings
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, offering strategies to promote optimal learning
