Job Description
Blazer Jobs is seeking Specialized Healthcare Paraprofessionals to support Extended School Year (ESY) programs across the San Francisco area. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience providing health-related services and support to students with significant medical and physical needs in educational or healthcare settings.
The role focuses on assisting students who require specialized health procedures while ensuring they remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
•Support students requiring specialized health-related services during the ESY program
•Perform gastrostomy tube feedings that do not involve medication administration
•Conduct blood glucose testing using student-provided glucometers
•Assist with administration of asthma treatments using nebulizers and spacers as directed
•Provide support for students with physical health care needs in accordance with district protocols
•Assist with classroom participation, mobility, transitions, and daily activities
•Support personal care needs including hygiene, feeding, and toileting assistance
•Work collaboratively with nursing staff, teachers, therapists, and related service providers
•Maintain a safe and supportive environment for students with complex needs
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
•Associate’s Degree or higher
•Completion of at least 48 college credits and High School Diploma
•Passing CBEST score and High School Diploma
•Passing Instructional Aide Exam and High School Diploma
Additional Preferred Qualifications
•Previous experience supporting medically fragile students
•School-based, pediatric, healthcare, or special education experience preferred
•Comfortable working with students requiring ongoing medical and physical support
•Completion of at least one training module related to physical healthcare procedures, including:
•Routine mouth suctioning
•Catheterization
•Routine oxygen support
•G-tube pump operation
Compensation & Support
•$26–$30 per hour
