As a Substitute Paraprofessional/Educational Assistant, you'll provide valuable assistance on days when regular staff are absent, contributing to a positive classroom atmosphere and supporting students’ academic and personal growth.

Qualifications:

• Completion of two years of college credits from an accredited institution, or
• Associate degree or higher, or
• Passing score on an approved formal academic assessment (such as ParaPro, ParaPathways, The Master Teacher), or
• Demonstrated competencies listed in the state-approved competency grid
• PCA certificate (or willingness to obtain one—it’s free and takes less than an hour)
• At least 1 year of professional experience working with school-aged children
• Preferably, 2+ years of experience as a school-based paraprofessional

Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom and individual support to students with diverse needs
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment
• Offer instructional support, behavioral guidance, and assistance with daily routines
• Step into multiple classrooms as needed throughout the school year
• Maintain professionalism and adaptability while engaging with students and staff

Details:

• Contract position, on-site only
• Per diem, 6.5-hour workdays
• Assignment runs August 2026 through June 2027
