A new specialty pharmacy in Las Vegas is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead and grow their compounding operations. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to build a pharmacy focused on GLP-1 therapies, allergy medications, and immunotherapies. The pharmacy recently established an in-house compounding facility that had previously been outsourced, providing room for expansion and operational leadership.

The PIC will be pivotal in hiring and managing pharmacists and technicians, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing day-to-day sterile compounding activities. A compliance consultant with expertise in pharmacy regulations is available to support the PIC, helping maintain full adherence to all applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge, ensuring compliance with USP <797>, <800>, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations
  • Oversee sterile compounding operations, including workflow, staff supervision, and quality assurance
  • Manage multi-state regulatory compliance, particularly for California and other states where the pharmacy operates
  • Develop, enforce, and update Standard Operating Procedures for sterile compounding
  • Recruit, train, and lead pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
  • Prepare for and manage pharmacy inspections, audits, and regulatory communications
  • Oversee environmental monitoring, documentation, and validation processes
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and dispensing of compounded sterile preparations
  • Collaborate with leadership on operational strategies, licensing, and business growth
  • Maintain accurate operational records and inspection readiness

Qualifications:

  • Active Nevada pharmacist license required; California license strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hospital, infusion, or specialty pharmacy settings
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to obtain additional state licenses as pharmacy expands
  • Strong communication and regulatory compliance expertise
  • Resident of Las Vegas ideal

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, day shifts
