ESL Teacher in Round Lake, IL

Make a meaningful impact on young learners’ lives as a vibrant educator in a Pre-K classroom providing dual language support near Round Lake, IL! This is a full-time, onsite contract role spanning the 2024–2025 academic year, with the school year set from August 17 through May 27, 2027. You’ll play a pivotal part in helping students establish strong foundations in both English and another language as they begin their educational journey.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate endorsements for teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or as a Dual Language Teacher
• Direct experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and effective instructional strategies
• Excellent communication abilities—both verbal and written
• Adept at fostering supportive, engaging, and culturally responsive classroom environments

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction in a Pre-K setting for English Language Learners (ELLs), focusing on developmentally appropriate practices for early learners
• Employ dual-language instructional methods and create lessons that integrate language acquisition with academic content
• Assess student growth and tailor instruction to differentiate for diverse language backgrounds and learning needs
• Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families to promote student success and cultural inclusivity
• Maintain accurate records of student progress according to school policies and state requirements

You'll work onsite every day, immersing yourself in the energy and excitement of the classroom—virtual or vocal remote options are not available.
