Job Description
A Long Term Care Pharmacist role is available for a dedicated professional to support skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice services. This contract opportunity offers a meaningful chance to impact patient care through accuracy and clinical expertise.
Location: Butler, PA
Contract Duration: 1 month ongoing with possible extension
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Pharmacy Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Sunday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify medication orders entered by data entry personnel for multiple types of care facilities
- Inspect blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications for quality and accuracy
- Respond to calls from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance and resolving medication-related inquiries
- Count and document controlled substances within the perpetual inventory
- Manage and verify emergency medication boxes to ensure compliance and readiness
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; Long Term Care experience preferred
- Proficient in QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems
- Physical capability to sit, stand, perform fine motor tasks, maintain visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds
