Pharmacist in Kittanning, PA

This opportunity is for an experienced Pharmacist to support long-term care facilities through a contract position based in Kittanning, PA. The role involves working closely with skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice providers to ensure accurate dispensing and safe medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify orders entered by data entry technicians for multiple care settings.
• Inspect and confirm accuracy of blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile products.
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance as needed.
• Perform controlled substance counts and maintain accurate perpetual inventory records.
• Review and check emergency medication boxes on a regular basis.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy operating hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Sunday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Active and valid pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; prior long-term care experience preferred
• Physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods, perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds as necessary
• Familiarity with pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC
