Pharmacist - Kittanning, PA

This opportunity is for a Part-Time Long Term Care Pharmacist working 24 hours per week on a contract basis. The assignment is scheduled to last one month with potential for extension. The position supports pharmacy operations Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm, in a Long Term Care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medication orders entered by pharmacy data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.
• Check blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications for accuracy and compliance.
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance as needed.
• Perform controlled substance counts and document thoroughly in the perpetual inventory system.
• Inspect and manage emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.
• Utilize pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a pharmacist; experience in Long Term Care pharmacy strongly preferred.
• Capable of prolonged sitting and standing, with good fine motor skills and visual acuity.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
