Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist, preferably in retail pharmacy
- APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
- Ability to supervise and direct pharmacy technician staff effectively
- Flexibility to cover shifts at a secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
- Adaptable and comfortable working at multiple pharmacy sites within the region
Location:
- Primary location inside a grocery store in Alamogordo, NM
- Secondary retail site available for additional shift coverage
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders while adhering to all protocols
- Maintain precise and up-to-date patient medication profiles
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify their daily activities
- Participate actively in medical emergency response efforts as a pharmacy team member
- Conduct medication storage area inspections and manage outdated medications
- Orient and train new pharmacy team members as necessary
- Follow stringent infection control measures throughout pharmacy operations
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
- Occasional weekend coverage required at the secondary location
