Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An immediate opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge with expertise in inpatient pharmacy practice. This role requires Wisconsin licensure and offers a focused environment supporting a 7-bed emergency department and an 8-bed inpatient micro-hospital.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Wisconsin pharmacist licensure.
- Proven inpatient pharmacy experience.
- Ability to function independently as the sole Pharmacist in Charge.
- Familiarity with the Epic order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred.
Location:
- Menomonee, WI.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary Pharmacist in Charge at a smaller facility.
- Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations including audits and medication restocking.
- Provide hands-on staff pharmacist services during day shifts, Monday through Friday.
- Participate in on-call duties to support pharmacy needs outside regular hours.
- Collaborate remotely with the local PIC and Pharmacy Director through structured training.
- Uphold strict compliance standards in light of the facility’s history related to controlled substance management.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shift.
- 40 hours per week.
- No weekend coverage required.
This contract role extends approximately 2-3 months, beginning immediately, and involves critical oversight of pharmacy practices in a specialized acute care setting. The position demands strong leadership and accountability in managing unique operational challenges within a micro-hospital environment.
